Founded in 1868, the SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs.
The San Francisco SPCA Foster Care Program is designed to help animals who have a chance at survival but who are too young for adoption and/or are sick or injured. The majority of animals SFSPCA is able to help through this program would face euthanasia elsewhere because they are underage, sick, or injured. In our 2013 calendar year, SFSPCA foster volunteers took in 1,017 kittens & cats and 245 puppies & dogs to give them loving home environments until they are healthy and ready for adoption.
