Chloe’s Story – A very special dog helped by a loving group of people.

There is so much need everywhere around us. Gooddler’s goal is to give a voice to charities that carry a difficult load, serving communities to make this world a better place.

We are proud to be partners with Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe that is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets. To continue to do so day after day they rely on the help of donors. Help comes in many different forms; monetary donations, purchasing items from their wishlist on Gooddler, fostering pets are just a few of them. The story that we are about to tell you shows the impact HSTT’s donors make in the lives of pets.

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe has a special group of donors, Constant Companions, that provide donations throughout the year to care for pets who need some extra time and attention to heal… like sweet Chloe.

Chloe was skin and bones when she came to HSTT. It was obvious she recently had a litter of pups and was then relinquished to an overcrowded shelter by her owner. They rescued her from that shelter and brought her to Tahoe. At just four or five years old, Chloe deserved a chance for a better life, but her road to recovery was going to take some time and special treatment.

With guidance from their veterinarian, they began a feeding regimen that would gradually put weight on Chloe without shocking her system. Chloe was fed small meals three times per day and quickly warmed to people handling her with care and compassion.

Gradually Chloe’s ribs became less pronounced and she seemed to have more energy. As each week went by, Chloe became healthier and happier. Her weekly weigh-ins showed she was gaining weight and Chloe’s photo sessions became more and more silly as she became more comfortable. After weeks of special attention, Chloe was healthy enough to be adopted so the staff began the search for her forever home.

Finally the day arrived! A kind person who was familiar with Pointers came to meet Chloe and fell in love. Now Chloe is part of the family and is quickly learning the ways of home life… sleeping on the couch and all!
