Atlas, Vegetation Fire, Napa County

 

Location: Atlas Peak Rd., South of Lake Berryessa

 • 25,000 acres

• Multiple structures destroyed, significant structure loss

Evacuations:
• Mandatory: Atlas Peak, Silverado Country Club, Soda Canyon, Carneros, Partrick Rd. west of Browns Valley, Dry Creek Rd. area, Knights Valley to Tubbs Ln., and Monticello to Circle Oaks

Patrick, Vegetation Fire, Napa County 

Location: West of Napa 
• 1,000 acres

• Carneros Inn, Henry Rd., Old Sonoma Rd. to Buhman., Dealy Ln.

• Calistoga Unified School District and Napa Valley Unified School District will be closed on day by day basis 

Tubbs, Vegetation Fire, Napa and Sonoma Counties 

Location: Calistoga

Evacuations:
• Mandatory Evacuations: Knights Valley to Tubbs Ln. 
• Advisory Evacuations: Hwy 29 north of Tubbs Ln.

Sulphur, Vegetation Fire, Lake County 

Location: Clear Lake Oaks 

• 2,500 acres

• Multiple structure loss 
• Evacuations in progress 

Evacuation Shelter: 
• Twin Pine Casino, 22223 CA-29, Middletown 
• Grays Church, Kelseyville 

• Konocti Unified School District is closed on day by day basis 

Blue, Vegetation Fire, Humboldt: 

•20 acres

Potter, Vegetation Fire, Mendocino County:

Location: Potter Valley

• 19,000 acres
• 100 Structures destroyed 
• Evacuations in progress 
• HWY 101 closed in both directions in Potter Valley 

Shelters: 
• Ukiah High School, 1000 Low Gap Rd., Ukiah 
• Willits City Hall, 111 E Commercial St., Willits 

 Animal Shelter: Ukiah Fair Grounds and Willits High School Farm 

LaPorte Fire, Vegetation Fire, Butte County: 

• 3,000 acres
• 650 single residences threatened 
• Significant residential and commercial structure loss 

Cherokee, Vegetation Fire, Butte County: 

Location: Oroville 
• 7,500 acres 
• 50 single residences threatened, 3 single residences destroyed 
• Fire has crossed Hwy 70 
• Evacuations in progress 

Mandatory Evacuations: Approximately 321 Homes 

Shelters: 
• American Red Cross (ARC), Church of Nazarene, 2238 Monte Vista Ave., Oroville 
• Large animal shelter is at Camelot Equestrian, 1985 Clark Rd., Oroville 
• Small animal shelter is at Old Oroville Hospital, 2279 Del Oro Rd., Oroville 

Road Closures
• Red Tape Rd. West to the Sand Mine, Table Mountain Ranch East of Table Mountain Rd., Table Mountain Blvd. from Cottonwood Rd. to Hwy 70, Table Mountain Ranch Rd. and Coal Canyon 

Jones, Vegetation Fire, Shasta County:

• 40 acres

Location: Community of Loma Rica 
• 8,200 acres 
• Significant amount of structures destroyed 

Shelter: 
• Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds, 442 Franklin Ave., Yuba City 

McCourtney, Vegetation Fire, Nevada County 

Location: SW of Grass Valley : 
• 150 acres

Mandatory Evacuations: Approximately 321 Homes 

Road Closures: 
• Pleasant Valley Rd., Bitney Springs Rd., and Rough and Ready Hwy 

Evacuation Centers: 
• First Baptist Church, 300 Main St., Nevada City 

Lobo, Vegetation Fire, Nevada County 

Location: SW of Grass Valley, Lake Wildwood 
• 880 acres
• Threat to Community of Rough and Ready, Lake Wildwood

Mandatory Evacuations: 
• Community of Lake Wildwood (gated retirement community) 
• Approximately 3,626 Homes 

Road Closures:

• Pleasant Valley Rd., Bitney Springs Rd., and Rough and Ready Highway 

Evacuation Centers: 
• First Baptist Church, 300 Main St., Nevada City

Lion, Vegetation Fire, Tulare County 

Location: Lion Creek, Golden Trout Wilderness x 11 miles NE of Camp Nelson 

• 11,700 acres
• Structures threatened 
• Crews continue to use backing fire to moderate any potential for extreme fire behavior 

Canyon 2, Vegetation Fire, Orange County 

Location: CA-91 at Gypsum Canyon Rd., Anaheim City 
• 4,000 acres
• Dangerous rate of spread 
• Structures threatened

Evacuations: 
• Area of Nohl Ranch Rd. and Canyon Rim, Areas east of Weir Canyon Rd. and Serrano Ave., areas south of the CA-91 Freeway and west of the SR-241 
• Approximately 5,000 homes 

Shelters: 
• El Modena High School, 3920 E. Spring St., Orange 
• Katella High School, 2200 E Wagner Ave., Anaheim 

Small Animal Assistance: SoCal Animal Response Team (SCART) is supporting small animals at both ARC shelter sites 

Large Animal Shelter: Orange County Fair Grounds, 88 Fair Dr., Costa Mesa 
• Horses can evacuate to the west end of Yorba Linda Regional Park, 7600 E La Palma, Anaheim 

Road Closures: 
• The California Highway Patrol has closed the eastbound and westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway to SR 241 
• Northbound lanes of the SR 241 to the 91 Freeway 
• The east and west off ramps of the 91 Freeway at Gypsum Canyon Rd. Health and Medical 

Care and Reception Centers: 
• East Anaheim Community Center, 8201 E. Santa Ana Canyon Rd., Anaheim 
• Anaheim Community Center, 25 E. Center St., Anaheim 
• Anaheim Youth Center, 225 S. Philadelphia, Anaheim 

The following schools were evacuated as of 10/09/17 at 1303 hours: 
• Running Springs Elementary, 
•Anaheim Hill Elementary, 
• Canyon Rio Elementary 


• The following schools will be closed on 10/10/17: Anaheim Hills Elementary, Running Springs Elementary, Canyon Rim Elementary, Chapman Hills Elementary, Linda Vista Elementary, Panorama Elementary, Santiago Charter School, El Rancho Charter School 19 

Additional Wildfire Closures: 

Orange County: • SR 55 is closed from the Northbound connector to Eastbound SR 91 • As of 10/09/17 at 1752 hours, the route has reopened. 
• SR 241 is closed to the Northbound connector to Eastbound SR 91 

Mendocino County: • US Highway 101 is closed from 3 miles north of the east Junction of SR 20 to the west Junction of SR 20 
• As of 10/09/17 at 2232 hours, the route has reopened. 

Napa County: • State Route (SR) 128 is closed from the Sonoma/Napa County Line to 2.6 miles E of the Sonoma/Napa County Line 

Sonoma County: • SR 12 is closed from 1 miles east of Sonoma / at Watmaugh Rd. / to the Junction of SR 121. • As of 10/09/17 at 1120 hours, the route has reopened. 

• SR 121 is closed at the Junction of SR 116, SR 37 is closed to Westbound traffic from the Junction of SR 121 to Mare Island. • As of 10/09/17 at 1035 hours, the route has reopened. 

Calaveras County: • SR 26 is closed from Main St. to the Calavaras / Amador County Line. • As of 10/09/17 at 1735 hours, the route has reopened. 

Yuba County: • SR20 is closed from Hammonton Smartsville Rd. to 12.8 miles W of the Yuba/Nevada County Line. • As of 10/09/17 at 0559 hours, the route has reopened.
